A Compaq C2000C was handed to me recently and I'm trying to see what I can do with it.

Does anyone know of an FTP or web server that actually works on CE v2.0?

Most things I've looked at are CE 2.11 upwards though I have found a couple of apps on the HPC Software Repository:

- Rainbow which claims to work. The readme suggests to run the exe but the zip only contains a CAB file. Copying the CAB file to the device and attempting to run it fails with an error.
- FTPSRV is a tiny web server which also claims to work on CE v2.0 but nothing happening when attempting to run it....

All the servers I've used in the past on newer hpcs aren't working on CE 2.0... Apache, CEHTTP etc.

Is anyone successfully using something on a 2.0 device?

I'm more used to later hpcs like the J720, CE v2.0 seems quite a tricky beast.......!

AFAIK there isn't anything like that for CE 2.0. Probably your best bet would be to install NetBSD to a storage card. Then you can install apache, lighttpd, or something similar.

Thought it might be the case but just putting out the feelers really. Not sure NetBSD would be a solution for these ancient beasts... no CF so the PCMCIA is going to have to be memory *or* network I guess...

Yeah, no CF is a problem. NetBSD actually works pretty well on older hardware though. Looks like you're pretty much stuck though if you are wanting to use it as a server.
