| Just bought a CE5.0 netbook from Maplins (CnMbook Silver) and want to try Opera ... where can I download it? I went to Opera.com and versions listed are various, including for mobile phones, but couldn't find a specific CE5.0 mention | |

| Sorry, no Opera especially for Windows CE 5.0...
But you can try version 10 for Windows Mobile, it have more chances to run on Windows CE than 9.6.

Don't forget to change required OS version from 5.2 to 5.0!

| Thanks ... I copied the .cab onto the unit & clicked it, to immediately get 'this file is not a valid Windows CE set up file'; is there some other route?
You advise: Don't forget to change required OS version from 5.2 to 5.0! But where does this come in?

| I have a CE 6.0 laptop I want to run Opera on... I tried above instructions but I got a regular windows download. I went to the laptop browser's settings, changed from XP to CE and managed to download a .cab file (beta 2?) but I get same error message saying it's not compatible.
Laptop has a VIA, ARM-VT8500
Thanks! | |

| RJ99, was willing to answer but lost the thread. o_O
Unpack the cab with MSCEInf and copy the files manually, keeping the folder hierarchy, than execheck all the exes and dll you copied and change required OS version number to 5.0.
m4f1050, unpack the cab also with MSCEInf and copy unpacked files to the device, keeping the folder structure.

| There's honestly not much chance for complex Windows Mobile software like Opera to work on Windows CE core. But I guess it can be worth a try. Opera 8.65 is more likely to work than Opera 10, I would think. | |
