Just discovered that MobiPocket doesn't work for above CE4.8 ... is there any reader which would work?

Try Haliireader or ubook. Both work on my ce5 razorbook (as does mobi pocket)

Cheers.

That's encouraging thanks ... I will keep trying the Mobipocket route as I'm familiar with it from my HPCs - but which version are you using with CE5.0?

4.8 is supposed to be the last version of Mobipocket Reader that supports H/PCs.

I tried (a) 4.8.413 mobireader_hpc.arm.cab Windows CE HPC and Jupiter platofmrs (ARM processors) and (b) Version 4.8:MS smartphone Windows CE 2.x, 3.x, .Net

For both I get a 'Is not a valid Windows CE application' when I click the cab from the handheld. Is there something I can do to overcome ... or should I be trying a different release?

A lot of these CE 5 machines are really picky about CABs. Try extracting it first on the PC with a utility like MSCEInf.

Thanks CE Geek ... but I'm not clear .. MSCEInf is a program? Where do I find it please? And having extracted one of the eBook program executables on the PS - I copy it over to the HPC?

I downloaded it from here:

http://freewareppc.com/utilities/msceinf.shtml

You open it on the PC, select the CAB file, and then click on the zipped folder icon to extract the contents. It'll place the files inside subfolders "Program Files," "Windows," etc inside the folder you've specified to extract them to. This is to show you where they go on the device. (Of course, you can substitute the internal NAND storage for Program Files.)
