CE 5.0 & 6.0 Taskbar

Is there a setting in the registry that can be changed or some other way to have multiple tasks be shown in the taskbar for CE 5.0 and/or 6.0?

You've lost me. All the CE 5 and 6 devices I have already do that, just like in earlier CE versions.

My old mintpad (CE 5.0) and the SmartQ 7 (CE 6.0) only show one task in the taskbar at a time (it fills up the entire task list area). I've seen this behavior on other devices as well, including WinCE GPS units.

I've seen that in screenshots from the emulator, but are you saying that the devices themselves do this?

Yes. Here's an actual screenshot from a SmartQ 7. It's exactly the same as the previous emulator screenshot.

Haven't seen any registry value for that. However, my notebook shows as many tasks in bar as are running.

Well, after some more research and looking at the CE 6.0 taskbar code, it seems that this taskbar behavior may be governed by the QVGA setting in HKLM/Explorer. I tried changing it 0 and restarting, but it changes back to 1 after reboot. The registry is persistent, so I'm not exactly sure why it is not allowing changes. Oh well

Try doing that with TaskMgr after reboot and killing explorer.exe, it should restart automatically.

I'm finding with persistent registry, some changes in keys/values are retained while some aren't. Dunno why.
