| I seem to be having a bad time with my Chinese CE Netbook!
For some reason I can't see any of the contents of My Documents. If I create a new folder, I can see the name but no icon, until I hit Enter. They files and folders all there if I look using Total Commander.
OK, I confess I was in the registry when I noticed this, but I had only copied a key to the clipboard, I hadn't changed anything.
I've tried deleting desktop.ini in My Documents, still the same.
Just noticed: a share on the network is also blank. | |

| Cracked it!
The culprit was that any file with the extension .doc was zapping the display.
Deleted the number at the end of the key for the default icon for .doc files in the registry and OK.
Is there an easy way to set up icons for file types?

| Use TotalCommander and it's properties dialog for desired filetype. | |
