| You can turn off the WiFi receiver if it isn't already off. But I think you're dealing with a bigger problem here. The battery may be getting old and no longer able to hold a charge. |

| Yeah, but it may have been sitting on a shelf for months before being sold. |

| Most laptops have power management. High performance, battery saver etc. Make sure it is not on high performance. If laptop is a powerhouse desktop replacement it may only last 1hr to 1hr30min.
I would look up specs online and report problem if it I well below claimed.
Oh also li-ion need to set 100pct or it will incorrectly not fully charge and report as low when it isn't so I suggest you do an overnight charge to see if that is the issue |

| Go to the control panel and hit up power options. Choose the "Power savings" option, that should make your battery last a little longer. If it doesn't, then you'll have to talk with the people you've bought the laptop from. |

| Given where you posted (WinCE6 ), what machine is this?
I think the previous advice was assuming "real" laptop or HPC rather than a chinese netbook.
I remember some disappointing reports of some of those netbooks having some very poor battery performance (ala 1-2 hours ) given their small screen sizes, lack of HD, etc.
I'd suspect either a bad battery cell (manufacturing defect ) or somebody slapped in the wrong battery (there are days where the stories of the generic netbook Chinese manufacturing quality are very reminiscent of the manufacturing in Soviet-era factories; unfair or otherwise: QA tracked inversely with the vodka ration or the Party quotas -- says a guy that liked to buy "Russian Leicas" ;- ) ).

| I've been looking for a few myself, but they've been really hard to find so far. There is a Chinese vendor on alibaba.com selling some, but the minimum order quantity is at least 200 units. |

| Well, the one battery I have lasts about two hours - but I have five extra of these generic netbooks without batteries. I'd like to sell them, but that'd be kinda hard without the batteries. |
