Have you tried a soft/hard reset? It seems to always do the trick. I'm not sure how on the 700 though; is there a reset button? If not, hold the power button for a soft or take all the batteries out and the adapter for the hard.

There are a couple of things to try:

- There is a switch on the back that allows you to lock and unlock the two battery compartments. Make sure it's in the locked position - it won't boot when it's unlocked.

- Are both the ROM and RAM modules seated in their proper positions? That would also cause it not to turn on.

i tried all the methods you told but it still did not turn on.
so I opened the device and saw it had a torn flex cable so I just finished purchasing a new LCD assembly for the Mobilepro 700
I hope this solves the problem. thanks to everyone who answered

Ouch, that would also cause it to not work

Replacing the LCD is not hard at all on the 700, I've done it a few times. But, you might want to add some epoxy to the mounting holes before reseating the screws that hold the assembly on. The plastic there is not too strong and adding some epoxy seems to strengthen it. I've now got a couple of 700's that have that repaired that have been going strong for the last 7 or 8 years.
