Change the chip on a Jornada 720?

Hey I was jsut wondering if I could replace the Jornada chip with another chip that had an ARM processor, maybe something from a ppc2002"?

Because it is...

1. Soldered onto the daughterboard and there is no like alternative
2. The hardware that supports it is specifically written to support that cpu...voltages, timing cycles, etc...
3. Even if you were to have a theoretical alternative on paper, it would be cost prohibitive to manufacture
4. Cause Alt Bass said no

The even shorter answer to this question is: Round peg, square hole. The 720 ROM board is designed for the 700 series, nothing else.

That was a full swap of the motherboards between a 720 and a 728.

That's a inter-700 series transfer, square peg, square hole. Aside from having larger RAM and a couple of extra patches on the ROM, the OS is the same.

if you thing chip RAM i have two ways to upgrade:
1. just for rich people this pc card
2. for people like me bigger upgrade. change the chip
