Some of you may know the Android 1.6 EKEN M001 can be flashed into Windows Embedded CE 6.0. Well, I didn't use the tablet very much, but today, I installed the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 working on it.

It's quite snappy, and the OS is in English.

Came installed with Core Player and Youtube App.

IIRC, the Eken is similar to my SmartQ, which actually has three OSs on three partitions (CE 6.0, Android 2.1, and Ubuntu). What kind of processor does the Eken have? (The SmartQ has a Telechips ARM11, IIRC.)

No, doesn't have instant on unfortunately. It even has SpreadCE by default too.

Touchscreen working nicely, Wifi working perfectly as well.

The CPU is ARM WM8505 600Mhz.

Here's the steps to do it in Japanese. You should use Google Translate.

Do you have the Windows CE image file available that you can upload somewhere? The link on the site you linked is hosted by megaupload and as we all know, they are long gone.

Maybe.... I'll try to look at my old Macbook Pro or my old laptop and see if the file still exists locally.

Nice to hear from you again, TFGBD.

There are a couple of ROM images here:

I installed "Hopelessness Edition" on my Eken M001 clone. It runs fine, and even connects to the PC via ActiveSync.

The links are still good, believe it or not (at least the ones I checked). 'Course, I have several 8505 images tucked away, including the three "Hopelessness Edition" ones.
