Like I said, I don't use Jlime
(the project was a HP Jornada open-source user project that spread into/onto other platforms... that doesn't make it bad, just maybe explains in part why the project lost steam on NEC hardware...
). Your root problem is purely linux-based and I suspect it basically means that your installation package doesn't know how to deal with your un-upgraded machine. So, if my suspicion is true, the problem will go away.
