LAN Card for nec900c

Hi there,
i get in afew days a nec900c to my collection.I have for my jvc mp33 a working lan card(3com589c). is it working on a nec with win 4.20 net? and which is a working card for nec? maybe wireless orinoco gold card? but i think it doesn#t work with wpa2,right?

Hi and welcome to HPC:Factor.. According to the Hardware Compatibility List (hcl), the 589c seems to be iffy on the 900c, I'll let someone fill in with that. I'll link to list below.. http://www.hpcfactor.com/hcl/hpchcl.asp
Also, the Orinoco Gold does not work with WPA2, but neither does any CE device that we know of. CE.net 4.2 like you have on 900c can do WPA though according to:

As far as I remember the beta 589 driver won't talk to the 900c at all.

thank you for help.i will try it in the next days. maybe i will try to get an orinoco gold card and try my luck on the nec. if it is possible i will tell it.

D-Link DWL-650 rev. G this wireless card seems to work on win ce net4.2? but i still think it is a 32bit card? I think only 16bit cards working on the handhelds? Thanks!

I think you're confusing the DWL-650 rev.G with the DWL-G650.

I use an orinoco gold card with my NEC 900c and it works just fine. Just go for the phone mobile websites.

I'll second the comment on the Orinoco gold. I've got a Lucent Wavelan gold and it just works ... in everything I own with a pcmcia/pc card slot. I'm still using WEP though
