It was a good thing that between your donations and my contribution the HPC:Factor server is spec'd properly, at 3:30 today one the of fully redundant drives failed in the server. The RAID array snapped into action and kept things going, but the traffic load vs. the slow down of the system led me to do some troubleshooting and eventually pulled the disk.
Luckily also, the drive is under warranty until December so I shall have it sent off tomorrow and hopefully get everything sorted when it comes back in a week or so.
Until then our array lacks proper redundancy as I don't have any matched size disks to throw in it.
OK, the replacement disk is in the server now and the array is rebuilding. It will probably take most of the day to rebuild, so things may be a little sluggish while it does it.
