Hello, I am new here and new to this Compaq HPC I found in a bunch of old junk.
I was curious if it was possible to resurrect it and be able to use it.
I have no idea about this and neither does my dad.
I messed around with it and found that it has a Hitachi SH3 processor and it runs Win CE 1.0.

I'm sorry if this is the wrong section to post.

We'd need to know what is going wrong with it first. I assume you've put in fresh AA batteries and tried to power it on; what happens next?

Well, not fresh batteries.
I need to get a new backup battery for it too.
It powers on, I've been playing around with it for about 20 mins.
Seems to work fine.
I just have no idea of what this can do.
I've noticed PC Link, what is that?

That initiates a connection over serial cable or infrared with a PC that has Handheld PC Explorer installed, which allows you to exchange data between the Compaq H/PC and your PC. See the links here for more information on H/PC Explorer:

There are lots of things you can do with the Compaq device (I assume it's either a C120 or a C140). You can type documents, keep track of appointments, tasks, and contact information useful in your daily life, write handwritten notes, and play several games. There are even a couple of programs that can generate the tone sequences needed to dial numbers on landline touch-tone phones (you just hold the device up to the mouthpiece of the phone so that the phone can detect them), and even a program to watch some MPEG-1 videos (though without sound). Browse through this section to see lots of threads about older Windows CE programs that work on this device, many of which can still be found online.

Thanks, I joined here in hope I could try to get it going again and use it often!
Would you happen to know where to find out what language CE 1.0 uses to create programs. I'm a young programmer wanting to be able to program almost anything.
I believe it's a C140.

MS vC++ 5.0 with the Windows CE Tools 5 SDK's.

Neither of which were free.

As a specific note you need v5 NOT v6. v6 is for CE 2.00.
