scgolferjoy@comcast.netMy grandson Dave found a compaq c120 at a yard sale. We do not understand what we have so could you help? We have no user manual.
We got the C120 to work by installing 2 AA alk batteries. It is touch screen with a stylus. it has a compaq modem card.
We do not have anyother perf equipment. could you tell me what all we can get to make this sweet little vintage pc to work and be a useful tool.

Thanks for your forum it looks like a place we can use...

There are a couple of downloads for it in H/PC:Update (under support), but not many.

Is it a CE1 version or a CE2 version?

I also strongly suggest you not post your email address on the public board, it will be picked up by bots and spammed into the ground.

Hllo again
As I look at this compaq C120
I realize there is not power coard, so battery will not last long (2 AA alk batteries)
I also realize there is no phone wire for modem..
Is there a wifi wireless card for the C120 ?? or
wan Lan card of some type??? Must be able to connect to desk top..

Moved to Windows CE 1.0x

Windows CE 1.0 doesn't support WiFi.

One way to get the downloaded programs onto the C120 is to install Handheld PC Explorer on your desktop PC and use that program to make a connection with the C120 either with the C120's serial sync cable or infrared connection. (If your desktop PC doesn't have an infrared port, then you can buy a USB infrared adapter.) See these pages for more information:

If it has a PCMCIA slot then yes you can use pretty much any standard modem up to 56k. But, the built in web browser is ancient and probably will not work with this site properly if at all. Beyond email it is useless.
