Of course I could not let a bargain go.. so I bought three Velo500's for ten euro's (only bidder, single bid, the hardware seems outdated then )
One is fully OK, one works after cleaning the battery contacts, but has a broken hinge, one beeps. So I have at least two working 500's after building one out of the last two.
Now for the prize question: Has anyone already disassembled-reassembled a 500? Or a decent pointer towards this info?
reward: the left over parts if interested...
I am able do do the work myself, (rebuilding 200LX's for years now) but a good pointer would be useful.

Well, found out on my own. Now I have two working Velo 500's I have no real use for. But that is like my other 20 or so small computers.
Time for a display case... Or, maybe I just photograph them working and display that on one of my (also superfluous) tablets

Nice to see you had more time for them as I had! Nice little machines, but I've decided a while ago to focus on one brand only for my own little pda museum.

Groetjes!

Michael

michelbel,

Disassembly and assembly already done.
Only got the loose parts of the third left . I could write an assembly guide though

But yes, the third needs checking to see if I can get the screen working again - so a disassembly-assemby is still in order.
Time permitting ...
