maybe we ought to create an ftp with all the Jornada softwares (those free). What do you think? A sort of mirror since it happen that the authors aren't available, website down, ...


There was a PLETHORA of softs for the Jornada.

There is a PLETHORA of softs for the Jornada. <-- this is still valid
... but you've got to google long to find some apps sometimes if the given website is dead. Unfortunately.

I hope that the screenshots will help some of you, guys.

Yeah, a mirror site for Jornada will be useful.

Legal issues aside though.
I guess free softwares can be mirrored without any problems, but I'm no lawyer.

Today, I have created a website with bit of css, php and html, so that users can send me the zip + gif file (per email), and my script sorts and uploads it.
You can send me the shot with zip to be uploaded.

The Software version of the HCL http://www.hpcfactor.com/hcl/

A Software Compatibility List (SCL) and download manager. I prototyped one over xmas/new year 2009.

The real problem isn't "a list of software for the 720" because someone comes along and duplicates it with "a list of software for the MP900C" and a "list of software for the velo 1" and so on into infinity.

The real problem to solve it to bring everything together in a device neutral fashion and then allow compatiblity information against it.

The two reasons why I never finished SCL are
1) I'm not all that keen to pay for the bandwidth of a mass download centre
2) I implemeted device specific voting in the HCL years ago and no one uses it

I understand.

Compatibility is indeed a big issue. To make each application work on the Jornada... Lot of fun.

Back so I visibly have not more than 5mb... rather too small to contain more.
So I have just created a page with all the Zips. Attention this might not be destined to the Jornada ! There are zips (from hpcsoft1 fan yola) and jpg as overview.

Patrick...nice list, but you have a lot of stuff there that just will not run on the 720..

Thinks like Aclock.mips, Atomic Canons, Batbench 900C, Batstatemips, ccregeditmips, checkersmips, classpromips, contextstopwatch.mips...

and about 20-30 more. I guess you need to test each application and see if it will run on the 720 or not...

I have a server with a lot of spare space.
I host on a 200Mbps FTTH, so the connection is good.
