| Hi All,
I'm new here, I've just bought 2 of the following 10" Netbooks X6 V10
Specs: WM8650
Ram: 256MB
HDD: 2GB
Operating system: Windows CE 6 (Box says Android, but not Android inside)
One is working 100% - I was able to connect to my Wifi Hotspot in seconds
The other one however does not connect - I turn on Wifi - LED light shows it is on, no taskbar icon appears in order for me to configure (add my key etc) the wifi
I bought them for the kids as christmas presents, please assist as I would love to have this fixed before I wrap them.

| The most optimisic thing that I can think of (assuming that the OS is OK) is that the WiFi module has disconnected from the motherboard. You would have to open it up and remount it to test that. |

| There are a bunch of 8650 Android firmware flashes you can download and flash onto the netbook...maybe that might help if you have a bad rom flash.
If the USB port is good, you could always buy an inexpensive USB wifi dongle that supports Windows CE also.
For now you might just have to use an ethernet cable and hardwire to the netbook for internet connection. |

| If you flash android onto it and later find that it is the hardware, without the CE rom image you will be unable to go back. I would suggest checking the WiNIC before you start playing with images.
ROM corruption where the device still runs properly is extremely rare (though not impossible). |

| Will it work if I add a USB wifi adapter? That it should work if the issue is hardware related and not OS related? |

| Out of interest, are you dealing with a new device or a second hand one?
If you add a compatible WiNIC, yes. Compatible being the operative word. |
