There are a couple of different ways to get the same result, but by far the quickest way is to ignore the embed and share options on YouTube itself and just perform a quick copy/paste.
You need to need to copy the Video File ID from the web browser address bar
(shown in the screenshot below
). This can be in several formats e.g.
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFXs5fohKz8
- http://www.youtube.com/video/IFXs5fohKz8
- http://www.youtube.com/v/IFXs5fohKz8
However you are simply looking for the "
IFXs5fohKz8" bit
(this is case sensitive, it is a Base 64 GUID
) that represents the Video File ID.
Then all you do is paste the Video File ID into the Forum markup with "http://www.youtube.com/v/" infront of it e.g.
(without the space after the [
)
