Well I wouldn't say it's the end of the road... They simply switched over to Android 4.0, some even with Play Store support, for around $100-$200

CE programs will run fine on Cortex A9, it uses ARMv7 instruction set. The problem is that nearly all these Chinese netbooks that used Windows CE used the OS illegally. They never licensed it from Microsoft, nor did they purchase a PDK from Microsoft to develop ARM specific OS for their devices.

I have a WM 8850. I asked for WIN CE6, but it came with CE7 installed (grumble grumble). Anyway, I can't see the menus in several programs. For example, Softmaker 2010 will not display the options in menus (same is true for Softmaker 2006 as I tired it too). Total Commander will open, but does not display in a way that I can read the files and folders in the file/folder panes. There are some other buggy things I am noticing.

Just thought I would pass it along...

FYI, Newegg now has refurbished Sylvanias for $29.99 with free shipping: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834684003

This will run Softmaker Office, right? If so, I might be tempted enough to get one.

Scratch that question - I just noticed the other posts in this thread (helps to actually read what others write).
