Is it possible to use a PCMCIA SRAM card to expand the internal RAM? I had one for an old Thinkpad 386, which did exactly that.

Will the the 7xx series accept it as well, or see it as Ramdisk?

To my knowledge, no. It will see it the same as any regular flash card and use it as storage. The only difference being the SRAM card will be faster.

As a side note, they're also a lot more expensive than regular flash cards (I just sold a 1MB SRAM card on eBay for $60Cdn).

I think that the only device capable of doing that was the VELO 1. Everything else would see it as storage.

Sorry, I don't think that's right. The Velo series, both the 1 and 500, did not use SRAM to increase memory. They used DRAM on Minature Cards to do it.

Kinda funny in any event that a CE 1 device could do something newer devices couldn't.
