Is there any linkage between the built-in Smartcard-Reader and the preinstalled Security software from HP?

I am curious, because it would make sense instead of retyping a password everytime you use the Jornada 7xx.

Can it be made to work together with simple means?

Anyone?

Nope...think of it as a peripheal you would plug into a computer. HP just happened to build it into the J720. They never even developed software for it. I mean it does work. There is some beta software out there that will read the code of a smartcard when inserted...but nothing at all to integrate it into functional use.

This is the best info on it: http://www.hpcfactor.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=10368&st...

Sad. Just sad. Such a great idea in the beginning and such poor result in a product. The idea was ahead of the times back then. Well, maybe we´re lucky and somebody makes a little program that would use one´s cash card for ID purposes
