I was about to suggest visiting cmonex' site ( http://hpcmonex.net/izemize.htm ), but it looks like she has just about every driver there except the German one.

If anyone has it, we'd appreciate it if you could post it up here so we can add it to H/PC:Update.

Is there some kind of rom-grabbing tool? When I reinstall the rom board I could retrieve it then. Just copz and paste is, unfortunately, impossible...

Are there possibly other sources otver the web?

Another option until you get the keyboard driver you want is to run Wolfgang Rolke umlaut program...

...as far as grabbing a file or program in rom, it is pretty much impossible as it is only a memory address and no way to capture just the part you need...

If you kept the German keyboard and only swapped out the ROM, you might consider just remapping the keys using OKey...

Thanks for the info...I am trying ArtSkey at the moment...I still hope somebody turns up with a german keybord driver. Can´t believe nobody got his hands on one - there are so many 7xx´s out there...

Why is it so hard to find a german version?

The problem is the keyboard driver is in ROM, not a file you can copy or access easily...if at all. You would really need the BSP for the Jornada and the German keyboard driver before it was flashed into the ROM chip.

Or you can dump the rom from a German model, and then compute the relocations for the file and save it...but you'd better know how to hexedit and do that sort of stuff.

You might try the Swedish keyboard here: http://hpcmonex.net/izemize/keybfinishedACY-ABE-AC4.zip

It is awful close to the German one, with the Z/Y not changed and it has Ä where the Ü should be. Swedish keyboard below...

So after a little playing around I am having real problems remapping some keys.

I don´t know what the OEM codes on the HP keyboard are - for the keys that differ from the german one (like "#" and "+" - since each of them is combined with other functions...).

Is there some list or so, where I can see the keycodes? That would help alot....at the moment I feel like I am stumbling through the dark with a matchstick....

You can try KeyboardHook. The ARM H/PC 2000 version is below. It requires the H/PC 2000 version of mfcce300.dll, which is already on the J7xx.

Ok, I´ve done some testing now. Here´s what I found:

OKey works, but it COMPLETELY remaps the whole keyboard. Which means, you have to assign EVERY button again! Even the special HP buttons on the screen don´t work anymore!

I didn´t knew that, to be honest I thought I could simple remap ONE or just a FEW keys and thats it...looks like thats impossible. You have do the whole thing, which is very timeconsuming... :-(
