I was surfing and saw this: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/719044294/10_1_inch_android_4_0.h...

So my question is this...what does CE7 offer over CE6? Is the web browser any better?

I'm not at all convinced there really IS a Windows CE7 (I'd love to be wrong here!)...that said, I've been wanting to try one of these Android 4 netbooks, especially the 10-inch one, but I don't trust it to retain its OS install. I don't know how to "recover" the device when it dumps. And, incidentally, I think the 10-inch Chinese "netbooks" use the same battery as the 7-inch ones, meaning short battery life?

The older 10-inch CE/Android netbooks definitely had a different battery, but it's hard to say whether the battery life is the same because there's great variance in battery life between different 7-inch models. Yes, Chuck E, there is a Windows CE 7, but it's officially called Windows Embedded Compact 7. As for the differences between that OS version and CE 6, it depends in large part on what the OEM chooses to include. The Sylvania SYNET7WIC doesn't include Internet Explorer Embedded, for example, Sylvania opting for the much older IE CE 6.0 (yet the SmartQ V5, with CE 6, had IE Embedded). I'd expect the faster CPU to provide a bigger advantage than the newer OS. There are several of these on eBay right now.

Does the embedded IE support flash video directly like IE8 on the desktop?

I *had* a 7" Android Tablet last year, but there were a few issues even with the v4.04 model.

#1 Browser quits unexpectedly (no idea how to remedy that)

#2 Resetting it. Default language is Chinese (make a note of icons & how to navigate to the correct menu)

#3 The manual wasn't in English either, and too small to make out the icons.

#4 I wasn't able to 'root' the device or apply flash updates.

#5 16 hours to charge it. Battery life was 5 - 6 hours, watching videos and Wifi usage.

I definitely won't be buying another Android device, as my mobile phone wasn't much better either.

My V5 wasn't working long enough to test that, Rich. However, as I've pointed out previously, I can do that in IE CE 6 on my Zenithink ZT-180 tablet. IIRC, it's Flash Lite 3.1 plugins that enable that. (My two SYNET7WICs don't have this feature. )
