Hi,
I just want to find out if Visual Basic has changed since VB3 on CE2/3 devices.

It is still interpreted, isn't it?

** modified**
and is not exclusively compiled to .Net Compact Framework ?

dd

Yes for sure, you just need certain components.

@Alt Bass
OK, thanks.

I had to leave question open for a bit longer, to allow for any responses to the .Net question.

But is that just for backwards-compatibility reasons?

I should have phrased my question better, as I'm curious to know if the developer tools now only target the .Net languages, and won't offer compilation to p-code.

You cannot compile via Visual Studio 2003+ down to VB5/6 runtimes. You can use eVT 3.0 to create VB programs that will run on CE5 if you install the runtimes.

No, not at the moment. This question relates to helping other VB users, and I just needed to be certain where the .Net versions took over, and not confuse myself or others.

Project wise at the top of my todo list is to look at feasibility of porting an open-source browser to the J720, such as Dillo which runs on the debian "wheezy" distro for Raspberry Pi.
