Windows 8.1 has almost caught up with Windows 8 in terms of total Windows percentages (5.07% vs 4.34%). Windows 7 has 51.12%. OS X 10.9 with 1.92%.

It might look like IE 11 has had a good month, but I will have skewed the stats because we've been doing a lot of re-writes and testing over December - so a lot of IE 11 could just be me!

So above were December's stats, what about all of 2013?

What is interesting here is that IE, Firefox and Chrome traffic are all within 210,000 hits of each other; virtually equal thirds of the main traffic!

Overall traffic on HPC:Factor continues to be depressingly downwards, 36% down on last year.

The busiest day of 2013 was 10th June followed by 16th July and 17th July.

Oddly the quietest is being reported as 3rd June, but I suspect that was related to an outage. 18th April and 9th March follow in quiet terms.

The most downloaded file was eVT 3.0 (original), which should mean that we have a lot of budding developers out there... where are you people?!?!? The next, perhaps surprisingly ActiveSync 3.7.0 (not 3.8 or even 3.7.1!)

The most viewed SCL app was Sol! CE

The most viewed HCL item was the 3COM 3C589 EtherLink III LAN PC Card

The most viewed hardware specification of 2013 was... the MicroSlate Sidearm ?!?!

So there you have it, 2013 in a nutshell.

I've updated Analog today ( http://www.c-amie.co.uk/qlink/?id=2 ) so that it supports OS X 10.10, Windows 10, Android 5 and new iOS devices, which helps given the data was missing in Analog 6.0.11.

I last reported in Feb 2014 and between then and now the data is down a little bit, but traffic has levelled off compared to the free fall it was experiencing.

Why is Chrome reported twice in the top browser heading?

One is version 42 and the other 43

So does the order of the browsers determine its frequency? I just find it hard to believe that Firefox is more popular than IE...

Yes, the order is relative to the hit count from each browser.

Microsoft got to the end of its fad of developing IE (they do it in faddy cycles) and let it fester. They've done virtually nothing since IE11 was released (Windows Media is in an even worse state!). IE11 is the same on Windows 7, 8 and 10 but lacks things like proper HTML 5 video codec support and its plug-in system is a relic of the 1990's and these days is a mess - no adblock, no flash block etc. not without breaking the sandbox model and installing them into the operating system!

They did make some considerable improvements in the rendering engine and I do still use IE as my primary browser, but it's a case of too little, too late for most people.

I cannot parse this sentence.
