| Let me go eat super...might be the order in which the cab file is doing things...let me set the dll to run after everything is copied over... |

| It looks as though it is the delete file process.
I've inverted the handle termination / file deletion sequence and corrected the typo Attachments ---------------- PoomDbSetup.dll (5KB - 2 downloads) |

| And to just make sure, I deleted manually every dll that was in the cab file, performed a hard reset on my tablet, then deleted the partnership in Activesynch...in other words everything. Also deleted the Gemini PIMS.
Then I ran the cab file (attached ) installed the Gemini PIMS via USB memory card, and then plugged in the serial cable. Created a new Activesync partnership and this is what I got during the sync...
Are we done now? (snap.jpg)Attachments ---------------- snap.jpg (59KB - 0 downloads) |

| If you're happy, I'm happy.
Do I need to invoke a reboot on it or is it good to go? |

| Sweet! Makes me feel all warm and geeky inside. Thanks for the screenies.
Great work here guys
I'll update the DLC entry now and perhaps we can get it added as a "HPC:Factor update" to H/PC:Update for any related devices?
Once you stop trying to send a LPPROCESS_INFORMATION by reference to a PROCESS_INFORMATION parameter (*doh* ), it's not too difficult to write the setup.dll; that is if you bother to read the manual.
Reminds me of about 1,000,000 years ago when I made the CE 2.0 NSP. |

| I dunno - I thought my way was simpler than all this . . .
Another small typo to correct - on the bottom of the tutorial page. It's CE Geek. I deny any association with General Electric.
Maybe now we can go back to talking about Rich's review of the NEC S1596-01. |

| Well that's gratitude for you isn't it!
Rich and I slog our guts out so that you can experience synchronisation in less than 4 taps and what do we get? You disown the General Electric company.
Is the NEC S1596-01 one of the devices this works on? Know of any others and I'll H/PC:Update it. |

Uh, I seem to recall Rich mentioning something about that earlier in this thread.
Synchronizable CE 5 and 6 devices I've done this successfully on:
CE 5
Fourier Nova 5000
Widefly WF35
Augen eGo
O-Digital TinyBook T700
Robert Dyas CUOL Book
Wasp Technologies WPA1200
CE 6
SmartDevices SmartQ V7
DT Research WebDT 430
All of these except the WPA1200 and the DT 430, however, dump the databases on reboot, so I have to back the databases up whenever they change, and I've set up a link in \Windows\StartUp to a self-executing backup from bUSEFUL Backup Plus to restore them on each reboot. |

| Just checking to make sure
Of your list the only devices in D&S are:
Augen eGo
NEC Mobile Terminal
So I can't add the update to them via H/PC:Update until they're added to D&S *whistles*
Sounds like your backup trick could use a CESD of its own too! |

| One thing the review didn't mention that I found out (when I got a lot of four of these cheap ) is that the USB host port on the device itself doesn't seem to do anything, despite USB host drivers present in \Windows for keyboard and mouse (usbhid.dll ) and for mass storage (usbdisk.dll, usbdisk6.dll, and usbmsc.dll ). After enabling the USB host driver in Maintetool.exe (under RAS ), when you plug in any one of these, after a few seconds you get the acknowledgment sound like with the Deje USB mass storage driver, but a keyboard or mouse do nothing, and a USB flash drive doesn't show up in any file explorer including the native Windows Explorer.
Still a nice device, though. |
