Hey guys!

The bad news for anyone getting a CE 1.0 device nowadays is that pretty much all the software vanished from the internet. I still have quite a collection of applications and games on my harddrive, pretty much all abandonware (either the creator is impossible to trace back or the company doesn't exist anymore).

Since it is discouraged to offer any software in the forums, I wonder what I should do with it. With some programs I am likely one of a few people on the planet who still has a copy of them, so naturally I'd like to give other people with CE 1.0 devices the opportunity to use them!

Since it all fits into a really tiny Archive, I put it in Dropbox. Here's a link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9x2hweo9v8391v8/Windows%20CE%201.0.zip?dl=...
I don't think there are any serials included, and likely everything in here is Abandonware. The only program that I think is still sold is PocketDOS, but the archive only contains the shareware installer anyway.

Thank you Karpour. Find software for win ce 1.0 is almost impossible. Perhaps some of the participants in this forum have some more selections. I would be grateful if they will be posted.

I am also looking for some software for my Ericsson MC12, and i have found an internet archive that got LOTS of this stuff but when i try to download (via 2GB PC Card) it says that this is not valid Windows CE application. Here is the link:
https://archive.org/download/windowsce1.0
I tried to download some games, but only Invaders and Monster Tower are working (out of those i tried to download).
Other files like BMPs and Sounds are working.
I have heard that most of those apps are for CE 2.0.
And this is my first day of being logged in hpcfactor, so i'm not allowed to go to SCL.

I suspect it may say "not valid CE application" because it may be a host installer.

Try checking this article to see the differences

Also, welcome to the forum.

You'll need a way to connect CE 1.0 to another computer that supports the handheld PC explorer (Windows 95/98 will work). Running those programs on the host will automatically install them on your H/PC, but you need a serial cable and another 90s computer to do it with.

You can always try using 7-zip to open a .exe file as an archive. Often you'll find the .cab files or the windows CE .exe files in there!
