| Trying to set up an ad hoc network with an Orinoco Gold (Lucent), a Casio A-22T (WinCE 2.0), and a Android phone using Barnacle Wifi Tether.
I can set it up successfully with a NetGear M-401 because the NetGear WinCE 2.0 software allows me to choose the channel for the ad hoc network--Orinoco's WinCE software has no channel option. Instead, the manual says an ad hoc network uses the Orinoco's "factory-set default channel."
Lots of googling tells me that factory-set channel is either 3 or 10, but neither works. I can set Barnacle to any channel I want.
Any light to shed on that? And is there a difference b/w ad hoc and O's "ad hoc demo"? O's WinCE 3.0 software lets users set up a "peer to peer" network and allows actual channel selecting.
