Hi, I recently got the vintage machine, which was the device i always dreamt of for my kid days. this device is still cool to use for some specific task like journaling and typewriting. for those purpose, even it is better than my ipad or any other gadgets i ever had.

Btw, now what i am looking for is IRC client supporting unicode or alternative encoding. im from korea and all of the HPC IRC client i could find till now supported default ANSI encoding only.

Every comment welcomed and thank you very much in forehand

Thank you for the IrcCE. Think this is the most polished IRC client among I've tried, but still does not support unicode... Think this still relies on ANSI charactersets. Can't send/receive Korean letter properly.

It is probably worth mentioning that Windows CE relies on UTF-16 instead of UTF-8.

Almost useless notion probably.

Thanks! Got to try if it work this weekend (I'm grad student so I have only one weekend :-(

Alt Bass also thank you. I think your notion may hit for me. I have another problem where certain software reading txt based script. (MMascot.exe) it didn't work properly with unicode txt file, when I only tried UTF-8 encoding....

Years ago i hacked RoxIRC to run on wince via eTcl. I do believe it supports utf-8. The download link has etcl included. It's a quick dirty hack but it works. The UI is set by default to 800x480 resolution however because it was meant to be used on those cheap netbooks. It did run fine however on my j728 and mp900c. You can change that by editing the "config" file. Supports colors, dcc file transfer, logging, clicking on urls opens in browser etc.

Download here: http://www.hostwork.com/users/matt/wince/roxirc4ce.zip

Cheers.

C:Amie: If you think it's worthy enough then go right ahead.

Rich: Hmm probably not. Most of my stuff has always been unix/linux based and tcl/tk just happens to be cross platform, so i gave it a shot. Sadly i've been so busy the last 2 years that i havent had time to monkey around with any new or existing devices. The last thing i had done was custom wince/android/linux builds for the wm8650 machines. I do miss tinkering, but i enjoy the $$ that comes with the extra hours at work.

Cheers
