| Could the capacitor be defective? Well, that is almost impossible but who knows?
I caught another dead hang with HDD led on. I am now eager to set up USB debugging. How much magic does USB2.0 debug cable which is mentioned on MSDN contain? Can I make it myself?

| IDE mode That will hurt performance, significantly. AHCI has a lot more features. |

| I do not feel that.
Also, to my surprise, Windows 7 hibernates with 8 GB of ram. It is not available through any menu but I can bind it to a power button. Edited by Alt Bass 2014-07-05 12:57 PM

| Why wouldn't it hibernate? You just need enough disk space to byte swap into. |

I thought the same when I was using XP x64 which was not able to do that.
Oh, I found it in the menu. |

| XP's (server 2003 ) kernel wasn't really designed for power management tasks. Hibernation changed a lot between XP and Vista too. I can empathise that you were having issues under XP x64. |

| Using Visual Studio without plugins is a pain. Intellisense is fragile and I cannot even go "Back" to the position before search began, I cannot cycle through tabs in constant order.
Dammit.
