Man, I'm so glad to hear that you like it. And thanks for writing up your thoughts in the midst of your busy schedule.

What do you think of the mouse as opposed to the Pocket's pointer?

And will you try to dd your Pocket Linux install to the Yoga? Or do you think you have to try a fresh install?

The Gemini is truly missing a backlit keyboard so kudos to the Yoga for providing one.

You're most welcome, Jake....

Both work fine, but I like the optical mouse better, as it takes less physical effort/coordination than pushing the trackpoint around.

No need (at least for me...) to dd linux from Pocket. I use a USB flash drive that I formated and created LinuxMint 19 (with Cinnamon) install on it using Rufus. Have found this to be quite easy and reliable way to do linux installs.

Also, like LM distro as it seems to install nicely and find various hardware bits on laptops (generally speaking), and install necessary drivers. Only thing that not working is audio. Need to fiddle with that driver-wise.

My other distro likes are Debian and Arch (although can be more of a pain to install and get all the hardware bits working sometimes).

Yes, really like having backlit keyboard option.

Here's a few pics....including side-by-side with Pocket....can you tell which is which?

Great pix and thank you for taking the time to upload them. I especially life the side-by-side keyboard comparison. The Yoga is a brazen rip-off, but, hey, it's karmic justice since GPD went off the rails with the Pocket 2 design.

Very glad to hear that Linux, sans sound, is functional. Do the headphones work at least?

It would be interesting to see what would happen if you did a remastersys, or some other app, to make a bootable live cd of your Pocket Linux--perhaps that would give you everything, driver-wise, etc.

Glad you enjoyed the pics...

Haven't tried headphone, will do that when I get a chance....

Also, will try to get the right audio driver too....if I get time.

Not sure that making a bootable live cd of Pocket's linux would work, as the Yoga uses different chipsets.

Yep, that's the new Pocket 2....

If I hadn't decided to go for the One Mix Yoga recently, I would have toyed with getting the Pocket 2. Although the Pocket I have now is great.

I decided I wanted to have the form factor of the One Mix Yoga with ability to use as table with pen, as well as backlit keyboard over having the faster Pocket 2 for my purposes.

Really enjoying the One Mix Yoga design, so, I'll probably sell the Pocket soon as I'm not using it now.

1. Pocket 2

2. Pocket

3. Yoga

But as noted previously, unless you're using device for newer games or other heavy duty programs, you won't notice much difference.
