nice idea.
some systems remove symbols, like for SQL injection etc.
Null symbol should be good... I don't even need to type it. haha
I remember reading once about using symbols that only certain systems have, for example Cryillic. Not sure if I want to do that since it will be hard to get the IME setup just for that occasion. Edited by stingraze 2021-12-17 11:58 AM

| Wow, it's getting harder and harder to design something around a RPI. Because the 4 runs hot, a fan is essential, and even the smallest fan (and heat sink ) increases the height substantially. Anyways, just for grins and giggles... here's where the design is at...

| I wonder if you're better off designing around the Compute Module 4 instead of a full fat 4B. Along with the height difference, you could design a carrier board to suit your project rather than having to shape around the existing board. Cooling would be far easier as well since the SoC is (one of) the highest components in terms of height. |

| Good thoughts... I'll start looking around.
I only do mechanical design... no circuit board design. So I guess I am at the mercy of the 3rd party suppliers out there.

| The Geekworm stick looks nice.
I guess your approach of your CAD is similar to the pi-top, which has a Raspberry Pi 3 onboard.

There's also CrowPi2 as a kit, maybe you can reference them too. It runs with Raspberry Pi 4B and looks a bit like the old Powerbook G4.

This is a bit humorous, but very interesting at the same time:

| The computer mouse is hilarious. Ingenious but hilarious!
Since my design looks too much like the Pi-Top Laptop, I guess I'll move on...

| Hi All,
Take a look at the new RasPi Zero 2W... quad core 1MHz 512Mb yet costs only $15 in a tiny Zero W form factor, has 2,4 wifi, usb, video and hdmi, bluetooth audio, can be under or overclocked, lower power, add Zram and can render youtube ( see Nova-spirit Rpizram easy install )... pretty amazing... runs many hours off cell phone charger battery, etc.

| The CrowPI2 kit looks cool, but with everything its about $550. But I really like the idea behind this.

| More like everything but: too big a device, too small a display. |

| I will definitely have to check out the RPI Zero 2. Initially I wasn't interested because it didn't have the speed of the full fat RPI4B, but if I treat it like a terminal instead of a desktop OS, it should be fast enough.
I took a quick look at packaging a full fat RPI4B into the Grid form factor and ended up with this...
I didn't model the keyboard yet, but I wanted you to see the keyboard and display to get a feel for the size...
