Printing a handheld PC

Maybe buy a cheap tft rear view mirror and steal screen and see what can be done to convert to HDMI

A little difficult to gauge the size but the connector on it is mini hdmi so it seems it's quite small, might be able to fit it in somewhere..

I was just looking at those on eBay, seems for a lot of them they've just stuck a 16:9 screen in there and left a load of space either side.

I love the "ultra wide" aspect ratio on HPCs, it'd be great to get that in a modern device but I've resigned myself to an 'off the shelf' 16:9 display for my project. Just want to get it moving before it goes the way of so many of my other projects..

I am gonna see if can get a 40pin tft in right size and try one of those boards if i can get a screen

The smartbook would be my just get on and get one made units.

But learned over years that almost perfect just doesn't cut it even if very useful and if going to trouble of building something and spending money then its gotta be perfect.

Also looking forward to hearing how you get on with the Noodle Pi, though I lean more towards the NEC MobilePro end of the HPC size spectrum by preference (as I may have mentioned previously).

mr-mac, have you had a look at the Gemini PDA yet (I know it's been mentioned elsewhere on these forums so forgive me if I'm repeating what you've already heard)? It's about the same size as a Psion 5MX and appears to have to all intents and purposes the same keyboard. Screen is 6" and 18:9 ratio so not quite letterbox but close. I'm quite tempted by it myself..

Screen looks too small for me. Doesn't look much bigger (except aspect change than sig3 one).

Apart from fact it runs android which I ain't all that keen on and tbh most reviews say most stuff isn't really optomised for keyboard apart from a few things.

A 5mx/sig 3 size would be smallest if it has larger wider screen say 1200x480 that really fills area. I'd go mobilepro/smartbook size as well as screens may be an issue for the smaller options. Whatever i have I would love it to fit an inside jacket pocket

So, the Noodle Pi arrived safely a couple months ago.

I was told by a twitter follower of mine today that you could just install the setup-ed OS image with the touch screen config. I thought I needed a special miniHDMI cable so I wasn't able to install the OS. I'm downloading the OS, but the server is very slow lol.

So here's a picture of it.

This is from a while back, but it looks pretty easy to make and neat.
The cool factor with this is the SD + SSD.
