I still use my Vaio P588E. Dual boot into Lubuntu 10.04 and Vista, and it runs clunky Vista remarkably well; Lubuntu blazes.

Still, model after model, the Vaio has the most ridiculous right shift key placement in the history of computers--small and exactly where the up arrow should be. Surely, customers must've complained; I mean, it's been over 20 years of this design.

Wish this had made it into production.... Keyboard looks spacious but cos of letterbox it really retained a jacket pocket size.

This was p-book which for a fleeting moment made us all excited as the prototypes of smartbooks all had Firefox and ran windows ce (cos android couldn't cope with gpu).

Wish just one had made it to market with modern CE onboard. I love the form factor

When snapdragon and smartbook first came out there was even a prototype from one of gps providers Garmin or similar that was a travel device and had the full gps/nav setup and the mini laptop/hpc stuff too.

That formfactor with its aspect ratio looks pretty neat. I had never heard of it before!

Sure there were a few in that form factor demo'd with win CE at the shows.

Can't remember if it was for snapdragon or Tegra release but was CE cos it supported gpu acceleration which android didn't at time but don't think any made it to market

Ooh so cute.

I hope Microsoft ends up releasing a Surface Phone like this. I’d love to have a new Windows Phone again. When I wanted a new phone they laughed me out of the store when I said, “Where are the new Windows phones?”
