The time has come for me to pare back on some of my older technology, so I am offering a working MobilePro 880 (with the MP 790 rom, making it an "890" ) and a MobilePro 790. Both are in good working condition, and include AC adapters.

The 790 includes the AA battery adapter (MC-BA10), as the battery that came with it no longer holds a charge. The fabric strip in the AA adapter tore out a while ago, so it's a little tougher to get batteries out, but it's still quite usable.

I have a black neoprene case (not pictured) that can be used for the 880, if desired.

Please PM me to make an offer on either (or both), and let me know if you have any questions.

Lovely machines! Maybe need another CR2032 on the MP890

Off-topic: When I purged old machines have also kept the MP880 and MP790. Wish MIPS put up more of a fight in market to be like the AMD to Intel vs MIPS to ARM. Let's see if RISC-V makes an impact in the 2020s

Thanks! I really like both of these HPCs; I just don't use them much anymore and decided to clean out the closet a bit.

The backup battery on the 890 is actually fine; the error message is a result of using the 790 rom. I recall reading years ago about a way to get rid of the error message, but I don't remember it.

The machines use a rechargeable internal lion battery. They simply discharge from not being plugged in. After you charge the main battery that error normally goes away by itself. No CR2032s in those days.

I thought MIPS might be coming back with a vengeance when I got my hands on a couple of MIPS CE 5 PMPs (about which I've talked here). The Au1200 processor under the hood seemed pretty powerful. Wonder what happened.
