Hey all!
I thought maybe this could be an interesting topic.
I acquired a 900 that was for parts, in a sorry state, fixable, but ugly.
I usually like to keep things as they were, but for this as it was already badly restored, I thought I'd jazz it up.
The 900 has a loose
(bad?
) ribbon cable for the keyboard, the screen and digitizer work, though.
Someone also badly spray painted it with bad cheap spray paint. So my plan is to get it functioning well again, and do a nice looking custom paint on it.
Not sure what design/colours yet, but it will be a nice glossy smooth coat.
Session 1
So I began stripping the spray paint, and it came off mostly nice for the initial pass, now time to take it apart and finish cleaning up the case.
I use Citristrip as it is safer, non-caustic, and derived from citrus extract. It is the gentlest stripping agent I know of.
So perfect for this case.
After the first session I got nearly all the paint, just need to remove the guts and clean up the case.
