Hi.

Do you guys remember the CASIO's Toricomail, an oddball in the Windows CE realm.
It's a sort of camera that could send out emails via cdmaOne network in Japan's au (wireless network carrier).

So, I got it in new condition, with all the accessories and box!

Here's mine charged up.

I might make the "complete" Windows CE come up.

I remember it as the MessageCam:

As I recall, it's MIPS CE 2.12, so the ePods files might work on it, like they do on the Pocket PostPet:

(I know you know a little about that device. )

haha, PPP: Something I exported to you a long time ago, I think.

Thanks for the info.

I've looked at Japanese sites, there were a few mentioning about how to get the shell up.

cmonex explained it on the page I linked above about the MessageCam. One of our other long-timers here (TFGBD) showed her how. (They got it from the now-defunct HackYourePods GeoCities page.) The ePods hack package includes the folder hierarchy (\CE\R4100\) with GSFinder renamed to autorun.exe. Then you use iTaskMgr to kill the overlaid app and execute explorer.exe. The question then becomes whether you can then get it to boot straight into explorer.exe by editing HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/init in the registry, as I was able to do on the PPP. (I prefer to use Total Commander instead of GSFinder as the autorun file, since you can then go right into the registry while you're there.)

Thanks. I think the Total Commander approach was introduced by the Japanese user as well.

off topic. I remember the AU monthly catalogs that a colleague friend used to send. Yukie Naka

Wow! Great to see a device I never heard of! There were so many cool gadgets in Japan that are just so inaccessible to non-japanese speakers, I do still enjoy seeing videos about them though!

Yeah, Japan has a good track record of making interesting handhelds.

It's rather tangent, but I got a board from NTT Docomo the other day, named PALDIO Eboard.
Since it's pretty old, I can't find much information on the web, but I think it was used in unison with a PHS from NTT Docomo.

I wonder if all of you are in summer vacation? haha
Here's pictures I took today with Toricomail.

I could use a Korean MMC - part no. MC12H064DBCA-SA 64MB without any problem on this device. I thought that was cool. I thought it couldn't support bigger MMCs or something.
