So after wondering for a while how to create .lit files for Microsoft Reader, I stumbled upon a plugin for Microsoft Word 2000/XP/2003 that does exactly that, best of all it's free!
On my HPCs, I used uBook reader primarily. I liked it better than Mobipocket while the two of them argued which was better. For simpler and less powerful handhelds I used Handibook (.txt format only). Then later I converted my books to a simpler .txt format as I went from CE devices to a dedicated ebook reader, the Jetbook Mini.
But during this time I discovered a free ebook conversion program that would easily, and perfectly, convert any format to any other. It runs on an x86 Windows desktop and not CE, but is fast and has more plugins than any I've ever seen. The program is called "Calibrae."
But whether it's Dodge or Ford…it's nice to have more choices than just Chevy…
If I remember correctly, I remember using the Microsoft Reader app on my Cassiopeia E-125. It ran Pocket PC 2000.
I gave it to a friend back in my middle school years.
Clit has been around a long time…until looking at the website just now, I wasn't aware they got around the Digital Rights Management limitation…used to be it only converted "open" books…
