I don't do it as often as I used to…and I'm not talking about sex. I'm talking about my eBay search for the term "Windows CE"

You still see the vintage wares people are selling. Saw a couple brand new Aero pocketpcs today…but what was missing were the hundreds of CE based netbooks/laptops. Then I did a specific search for them and found nearly nothing…zilch.

Even gps units are becomming fewer and fewer as Android has taken over. Same for thin clients. When is the last time you saw an AMD 50X15?

By the time I die in the next 10-15 years there will be nothing left except for a memory.

However, I'm finding just as much sex on ebay. Buy-It-Now, free shipping, the works.

But yeah, not too many pkb's. Love my Gemini, but even their vaulted keyboard can't compare to the J-720's. And while J-720s had their break-down (mostly hinges), I don't remember many complaints about failed keyboards.

I just peeked at usedhandhelds.com and they're still selling the J720.

First, you're never going to die, Rich. Second, there'll always be a MobilePro for you somewhere

Old CE diehards never die - they just require a hard reset.

Oh dear, Rich is feeling philosophical.

You realise that when you go, eBay will get flooded with the things as Mrs. Hawley clears out your house.

Is it the moon-phase? lol

jk.

eBay, a good tip is to make alert / watchlist for specific models, and get alerted when that item gets listed.
eBay interface changed a lot, it's hard getting used to it.

Agree, took a while to buy a Synet laptop for testing my self-hosted CE ARM compiler solution based on porting TCC and windres. Reason I needed it is because the Jornada 820 battery is dead after twenty years.

When it arrived DOA I had to use the internet archive in order to find an image and reflashing instructions to revive it!

CEGeek...at my age it is rarely a "hard" reset...more often a "soft" reset.

C:Amie...wife will be for sale on eBay long before my handheld which are down to 3 MP900 and 3 Skeyepads.

SMB...At least you found one!

Jake...I will be cremated one day and have my ashes stored in a Type II PCMCIA slot.

Stingraze...at least you're in Japan where you can obtain Mobilegears and other neat toys.

Rich,
Yeah, the "other neat toys" are around, but tensions around the area are rising.... Your military does very good job of defending your country against foreign invasion / attacks.

Ospreys were deployed near my area officially, btw. I think the Navy version.

Ospreys for what they are actually aren't very loud! See them weekly flying above the torrey pines golf course then out to sea.
