I finally managed to get my hands on a YD-8U10 floppy drive, one of the few (or maybe only) that works on a Jornada 820. And it sure does!
Now I can post Photos from my Sony Mavica directly to the internet without ever using a PC

Nice work! To be honest I had forgotten about cameras that used floppies for storage.

Kinda reminds me of War Games (The 1st movie).

The Travel 120 works on the Jornadas too. It's a pcmcia type floppy that reads/writes 720 or 1.44 disks, also reads/writes the LS120 mb disks too. Do they still make those?

Of course your camera can use that Sony floppy/memory stick adapter too. Thinking you could use a pcmcia memory stick adapter as another option…though not sure really.

I doubt they're still in production, Rich. Who'd use them other than vintage computing buffs like us? (I have a Travel 120 buried somewhere in my house. )

I'd forgotten about the Mavica too until you mentioned it, Karpour. We actually had one of those at work about 20 years ago.

We don't seem to have a Travwl 120 in the HCL!

Is the photograph of a 8U10-8300 (which is in the HCL) or is the YD-8U10 a different device (which isn't)?

It's the same one, C:Amie. I mentioned it here:

https://www.hpcfactor.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=4840

I have one too, but it's the 4x-speed model (YD-8U14).

The Y-E Data Web site is closed now, but you can see them here in the Wayback Machine:
