I've written a Badges system for the site.
You can see what badges you've got if you visit your profile e.g. https://www.hpcfactor.com/forums/view-profile.asp?action=view&uid=27
Some of them are a lot harder to get than others. There are 29 badges currently.
If anyone has any cunning, clever or fiendish ideas for badges, or would like to nominate someone for one. Let me know. |

| It took 15 min to write last night, 25 min to write the SQL and about the same to do the Cron - sure as hell beats watching TV . They're automated by the server.
Seems to be the 'in' thing to do these days. I think it makes the profiles more interesting even if you don't |

| Badges?! When do I get a badge for you biting my shiny metal ass?
(But seriously, cool feature. ) |

| Bit his shiny metal arse
How about right now
... though as I'm English, and I object to animal cruelty and you'll have to accept a more intimate biting from me instead |

| There we go, the badges are now clickable so you can see who else has one / latest users.
There is also a dashboard to be found at https://www.hpcfactor.com/community/badges/ which lists all of the badges that have thus-far been "found"
I also deleted and re-issued all of the 'year milestone' badges so that people who haven't logged within the same time frame on don't get awarded it. Seems fairer. |

There's gotta be something more interesting on the BBC than this. |

| Oh good God. I've been here more than 10 years.
I recall finding this place, hpcnec.com, and usedhandhelds.com at Christmas 2006.... the good old days when everyone but me had internet and WiFi, no one had a password, and I lived in an old house on a hill overlooking town. I had my choice of several dozen routers. Good times! |

It's like the good old days of Windows PC's without firewalls. You just got hold of someone's IP address from Windows Messenger and pretty much have a look at their stuff
Oh Windows Millennium. Simple times.
