The trend to foldable screens have come to laptops as well.
Lenovo showed a concept that closes like the smartphones mentioned in this thread, at 13.3 inch screen size.
They are aiming for about 907grams with an Intel chipset.

It's almost as if you've learned a lesson there!

I won't buy their stuff either.

If I want rootkits in my drivers, I'll start using BitTorrent thank-you very much.

I never liked IBM ThankPad's design. I thought they looked unappealing an dated back in the 1990's. Some would call me a philistine. Those who try it might get banned

I liked the design of the IBM ThinkPad (Like the X21 I bought in Akihabara long time ago) and how it had interesting keys like Access IBM key for recovery (I never used it however).
But ever since I learned in around 2013 that Lenovo was stealing user's information made me not want to buy their products...

Well, I guess all sorts of programs these days collect user's data in one form or the other, but with current situation of Huawei and other Chinese companies in big trouble from the U.S. government, I have to be really careful I guess.

Yep, pretty sore about it...Problem is at the time and still really anything else like it is pretty low quality or has a x86 which i was trying to avoid both...

Here’s an actual video of the Lenovo foldable laptop in action.
Better than I had imagined.

I am not sold on it not being a companion device. If you are going to lug around a Bluetooth keyboard anyway, well, you've ended the point of the device. If you need a keyboard, you'll get a device with a keyboard. Otherwise it's the makings of a next-gen consumption device. I can see it being great when it arrives on the Galaxy Tab 12, but for anything other than an expensive consumption device (v.s a creative and productivity device). If it is going to be a consumption device, you don't want an x86. You want ARM.

Nice try, but I'll be keeping my money thanks.

Ah yes, the move towards Intel chips to ARM... Even next generation supercomputers are making the move (still few, but). Members of this forum have a long history of using ARM devices, and perhaps could make the next generation foldable laptops/ smartphones steered to something that doesn’t break or is very energy efficient...

You can even buy enterprise servers with ARM cores

The day Theresa May let ARM Holding be sold, I was (and still am) livid...

Very nice.

SoftBank took a bold step buying ARM a while back....
My bet is that they invested very well....

It is a pretty crazy story though.

Microsoft Surface Duo seems pretty cool.
And it runs Android.

Coming in 2020.
