Does anyone know where I can obtain SoftMaker Office for my new MobilePro 900? I can't find a download anywhere from SoftMaker, even for the trial. Ideally, I'd like to get a full version somehow, but I can't find anywhere to buy it. Has anyone obtained it from them recently?

I believe that TextMaker and PlanMaker 2006 are still on the Used Handhelds Handheld Resource CD http://www.usedhandhelds.com/handheld-resource-cd-over-300-worth-of...

100% licenced and above board!

Our review of the original release which had SoftMaker 2004 on it:

Office 2010 made it to .NET 4.2, although I suspect it was targeted at VGA devices (NetBook Pro) and not HVGA.

The resolution shouldn't matter.

I have the cab files for the trial of TextMaker, PlanMaker and PresntationMaker 2010. I have no idea if they can still be registered or not.
I use the registered versions of TextMaker and PlanMaker from the used handhelds CD on my J728.

The CD is well worth the money and is probably your best bet.

We don't have presentations as a stand-alone app in the SCL and we don't have trial binaries for TM2006, PM2004 or PM2006. So if you want to share them, I'll take them for the SCL.

For what it's worth, I had a trial version of Softmaker Office 2010, including Presentations, on my Jornada 728, awhile ago. However, Presentations was very slow, and sometimes crashed (due to insufficient memory, I presume). However, the primary problem was that SM Presentations are limited to the Jornada's half VGA screen (680 x 240 pixels). Full screen VGA output (to a projector or monitor) is not possible with SM Presentations. For me, Margi Presenter to Go was a much better solution.

A few years back, I asked Softmaker about registering Office 2010 for the Jornada 728. They were not interested. At that time, my interest was in Presentations 2010. But with half screen output, it was not useful to me, anyway.

For use on J720/728, the difference between Textmaker 2006 and 2010 is negligible, in my opinion.

OK, I've fixed it. That's answered a question about a bug I've been seeing for 20 years

I have the original links from Softmaker - they are still active. These are the full versions so you need a serial number.

Thanks! I've loosely added the non-Pocket PC releases to the SCL

https://www.hpcfactor.com/scl/1070/SoftMaker/Office/version_2006
https://www.hpcfactor.com/scl/1071/SoftMaker/Office/version_2008

If anyone would like to help "fill in" the missing details - or improve the content of anything in the SCL. Please let me know. I'll happily accept extra eyes and hands

I think it is SM Office 2010, but it is quite slow. You might get a better performance with the 2006 version

Good to know that. Thanks, ntware!
I was just a bit confused even after reading the thread and the SCL.
In comparison, PocketWord lacks a whole range of formatting functions as in TextMaker, but it's so lightweight and fast. Plus I find the outline mode excellent for making outlines.
