hello,
I got this device without a ROM. The device does not respond to pressing the power button. In another forum, I was told that the device BIOS is also on Board the ROM with Windows CE.
Is there a way to turn on the device without ROM? For example, if I find a PCMCIA flash card and copy the win CE image to it?

If there are no alternative ways, where can I buy such ROMs? On ebay not find, maybe I'm doing the wrong search...

I am afraid that these generation devices do not have flash ROM chips, they are burned. You will have to replace the entire daughterboard

Isn't that the same as the 2010C? If so it might provide more search criteria.

The list at the link above certainly implies as such, aye.

Probably this is the only link where there is information about these compaq ROMs

I had an idea to buy a PCMCIA compact flash adapter and record an image of Win CE on it, but it seems to be fantastic! It is unlikely will work...

I noticed the similarity with ROM Casio Cassiopeia A-11A. The connector is also 32-pin and the slot is similar...

I'm going to find on eBay cheap and in poor condition Compaq C-series with ROM

Just to help you out the Compaq C120 is a rebadged Casio Cassiopeia A20, and the Compaq C140 is a rebadged Casio Cassiopeia A-11. So the ROM Modules are compatible. I took my CE 2.0 Module out of my A-11 and put it in my C140 and it worked fine. And the CE 1.0 Module out of the C140 worked fine in my A-11. (the A-11 has a non-working touchscreen)
