I wonder when password itself become obsolete...
Given that you need very high technology to verify human identities then those humans who willfully subject to it will be giving away their privacy forever. This is already happening in some way with the "log in with X" buttons on websites and fingerprint and face readers.

I hope that humanity will not ever make this choice.

So I am getting

Quote
It would take a computer about 1 trillion years to crack your password

Anyone currently beating that?

Mine says:

Quote
2 hundred octillion years

And that's a problem I wanted to report, it is the password I use for this forum and it's causing me a lot of trouble. It's too long for the input field to handle so if I type it manually it gets cut and the forum won't let me log in. The password manager I'm using bypasses the length restrictions on the form and lets me log in, that's currently the only way I can use this forum. Is it possible to patch the login form so it doesn't limit the password length I can type?

I've patched it from 20 to 64 characters. I trust that will allow your password to fit?

Hey, what's the big idea? That's MY password.

I remember a British study where people were handing out a candy bar to Londoners who would tell them their password. Americans would have held out for two candy bars, it's our mercantile nature.

Yes, thank you. It works now, I'm not sure why the register form allowed me to type it if it wasn't going to work with the login form.

Probably because I re-wrote the register page but logon was original code.
