Hi. Is there anybody who can help me get a full access key to the GUI application builder for PocketC called PCForms? I have a Jornada 720 that I wanted for "on client" c programming with PocketC. PCForm is the perfect GUI "IDE" option, but I only found links to it on the Way Back Machine and I want to get the full version. I don't mind paying for a key/serial but the developer's pay link is dead. I couldn't find any other discussions on this site about it nor anything on the current, "living" web. I hope this is the appropriate place as I am a total noob in the HPC community. If anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it as I finally found the c"ish" compiler on the machine that is perfect for my task. I don't want to go the gnu/linux route quite yet if I don't have to. I'd also be interested in any other GUI builder that you know about that works with PocketC or perhaps a different c option that i'm unaware of. thank you.

What is the WBM URL you are looking at? Perhaps we can work out who currently owns the IP and approach them to Exemptionware it - https://www.hpcfactor.com/downloads/exemptionware/

Looks like they were based in Tunbridge Wells, but it also looks - from sleuthing around in company registrations - as though they shutdown in 2014

Based upon the signature being used here: http://web.archive.org/web/20040907202818/http://www.networkdynamic...

I'm going to guess that their admin was Guy Sprackland, their MD, as his name also appears in the PCForm license terms.

It looks as though they ceased commercialising PCForm in 2006.

I have put PCForm in the SCL
https://www.hpcfactor.com/scl/1067/Network_Dynamics/PCForm_Visual_Ap...

Along with the v3 PocketC runtime
https://www.hpcfactor.com/scl/1068/OrbWorks/PocketC_Runtime/version_...

Mr. Sprackland, if you see this post. I hope that you will consider making the 1.25 release of your tools available to the community once again under our Exemptionware license - https://www.hpcfactor.com/downloads/exemptionware/

I can have a look at resurrecting PCForm. It's on an archive somewhere, but I've no idea if it will still build. It used the Orbworks PocketC desktop compiler for the main code and Evc to build the DLLs to give Windows API access. If I can't build it I can at least create a key so that it can still be used.

I had to stop developing it when Orbworks stopped supporting PocketC on Windows CE, then HPCs vanished into the depths of time as well.

Hello Guy,

Thank-you for responding to the query.

You had a really innovative product, a full WYSIWYG IDE on CE was quite an accomplishment. It would be a shame if it were lost to the digital ether.

As you can see, I was able to recover most of 1.24.3 from the Way Back Machine. It looks like you made a large number of innovations in the 1.25 release from what I was able to read.

If there is anything that we can do to help, please let me/us know and thanks again for responding to my letter.

Still looking. I have backups of everything but this is stuff from 15 years ago so it's being elusive. I'm in the process of moving house at the moment and a lot of stuff is in storage so it might be there.

The moment I find it I'll report back and we can work out what to do with it.

Guy
