Hello everyone, I'm an on-again-off-again HPC enthusiast, so I may not be the best person to maintain this thread but I would *like* to have a sticky thread where people might post their internet scourings for the decaying 90s-era websites/internet archive saves that still retain HPC software. I have found a few japanese sites which still exist and have some
very useful and needed software for me.
In addition, I am finding it difficult to find software specifically for WinCE 1.0 and 2.0, which, I know, is obvious why, however whenever I find a giant repo of CE software it is very difficult to narrow down what the minimum/maximum CE version is for each piece of software. To that end, since I own CE 1.0 and 2.0 Cassiopeia's, I have been sorting all of my downloads into "CE1" and "CE2" folders
(and in my case I have only been downloading the SH3 versions of the software
). I know this site has a software repo with cross referencing, so I was wondering if the site team could, at the very least, collect some of the most important pieces of software such as: python for ce1.0 and ce2.0, and cmd for ce1.0 and ce2.0, etc etc. Links below.
I have searched this forum and haven't seen a similar endeavour yet, I hope I'm not repeating content here.
The big two for me are:
http://web.archive.org/web/20001207234400/http://digicool.com/~bria...
http://oohito.com/wince
The second site contains a driver kctrl.dll which enables the use of cmd and other really cool bits of software also available on the site. If the contents of these two sites could be added to this one I think it would be an excellent addition to the repo.
I have not explored this site yet but:
https://www.vector.co.jp/vpack/filearea/other/wince/
Finally a mirror of tucows from the 90s:
ftp://202.125.94.81/tucows/
Use at own risk. anonymous works on that ftp site and there is more in the root directory I haven't looked at, including a folder called "wannacry" so... be careful haha
Happy hunting!
