Sorry for multiple posts, but system won't allow editing posts for very long after posting....

Realizing now that I followed install instructions which does not mention using the modules file that is available on Stefan's website. Is that why no modules are listed when I do lsmod? or are the modules already included in the rootfs file?

Appreciate any and all input.

Thanks,

Mark

My AmbiCom WL1100C card has green indicator light blinking.....

Meanwhile, tried lsmod and no modules are listed.

Anything else I should check out?

Thanks.

One thing is that is the WiFi network type of the WiFi router (like b,g,n etc.) the correct one that supports your WiFi network card?
I have a Sigmarion 3 running CE .NET 4.1 and it sees newer wireless LAN types, but can't connect probably due to incompatible WiFi network type.

Just something worth checking.

Great point!

That is very likely the problem as I think the AmbiCom card only supports b....

And I'm sure the guest network at work is more advanced than that.....

Have not had time yet to try to connect to my WiFi network at home, but will likely be similar issue I would guess, but will try.

So, now question is whether there are any WiFi cards that will work with 720 that support network types?

Thanks.

Hi Mark!
The driver for the Ambicom card is compiled into the kernel. Because it is also my main card and i dont want to use a module on this. So there is no module listed in lsmod.

There is a CF card that supports G networks: AmbiCom WL54-CF - In the US these cards are dirt cheap on Ebay ...
I have to verify that there are drivers for Linux and maybe someone can test this card!

Regards
Stefan

The Ambicom WL54-CF cards is based on the Marvell 88W8385 chipset, and there is a driver available in the kernel sources! https://wiki.debian.org/libertas
I have no card to test it, maybe I order one from the US. Because these are really cheap - Ebay: 323587655912
Maybe with this card is also WPA2 encryption possible ...

Hi!
I uploaded a Debian 9 root filesystem. Please be aware that this image uses more ressources.

You can find it here: http://www.sp-net.at/nextcloud/s/5qBbkaXaZtiypbP?path=%2Fdebian9

The steps for extracting it to the CF card are the same as with Devuan.
