I wonder if anybody saw a good guide to setting up Linux distro for oneMix or GPD. I definitely recall reading such an article being also a review some time before I bought one but I cannot find it again, it mentioned how stylus does not work well because Goodix did not push their recent drivers to kernel and some generic commands to make experience better like rotating the touch screen etc.

Hi.
I don't own either of the devices, but just some things I found for you:

Goodix Touchscreen Linux Driver for One Mix 1S & One Mix 2S
https://gitlab.com/AdyaAdya/goodix-touchscreen-linux-driver

One Mix Yoga 3 & touchscreen / pen support
https://www.reddit.com/r/GPDPocket/comments/c8s18u/one_mix_yoga_3_li...

One Mix Yoga 3 & Linux
https://liliputing.com/2019/06/running-ubuntu-on-the-one-mix-yoga-3-...

Maybe it's not the right model for you but, just my two cents.

What's the approach to selecting matte screen protector? Is it distance between glass and LCD important for choosing?

I haven't bought a matte screen protector for a very long time, but...

Matte, AG(Anti-Glare), AR (Anti-Reflection), non-glare, non-glossy types of films are there.

When I choose my screen protector for my iPad mini / XPERIA (smartphone) I like to use the glass screen protector that uses glass from a Japanese glass maker. They can be found relatively cheap on Amazon etc.

Maybe these might be good for your OneMix? (This one is for OneMix 2s)

What really saved my XPERIA one time was the glass screen protector. I dropped my XPERIA a few feet on top of the floor, but no damage to screen whatsoever.

The thing is the glass types can make the touch screen experience a little different...
