Ok, I have three Psion 5's. One is a strictly parts machine as its case is ruined. The other has a ruined flex cable and the last one functions fine. But the flex cable has got me to thinking, would it be possible to repair it using copper tape? Link

I don't have any of them on me as they're in the U.S., but from what I remember the cable itself isn't extremely small and I can clearly make out the leads. I'm thinking, remove some of the plastic from the cable where its broken and simply use this copper tape cut in thin strips to connect the broken connections. Finish it off with some anti electric tape to keep everything in place and add some rigidity.

Anyone tried this?

*Edit*
Just to be clear, I'm talking about the screen cable. Sorry I left that out initially!

I think this would make the cable less flexible and more prone to breaking again in the future.

I'm more of a fan of bypassing the broken line entirely, using another flex cable, this way you don't have to change anything about the existing flex cable, and there's less risk of making it even worse!

I would say that if you’re into fixing the broken flex cable perhaps one of those conductive ink pens should be a good idea: https://www.wish.com/product/5d9c34c9a157ed563edb938e?from_ad=goog_s...

Hey Karpour, thanks for the input. The cables aren't expensive, but I'd prefer to try fixing it myself. NTware, yeah those are pretty neat. But if there's a physical break in the cable, I don't think it would work.
